Missouri Medical College Class of 1890
Missouri Medical College Class of 1890

The institutional resources of the Bernard Becker Medical Library Archives have limited value for genealogical research, but might be useful in some circumstances.

The holdings of the Archives are focused primarily on the medical school’s departments, administrative offices, and faculty members. The Archives has few records relating to individual students and does not collect any patient records from Washington University’s affiliated hospitals. Past and present faculty members of the Washington University School of Medicine are generally the only individuals identified in the Archives collections.

Verification of an ancestor’s graduation from or enrollment in the Washington University School of Medicine or its predecessors (Missouri Medical College and St. Louis Medical College) is a common request. The Archives staff can answer some of these questions by consulting the University Bulletin or historical medical directories.

To request a confirmation of a student’s enrollment or graduation date, please fill out the form below as thoroughly as possible for the best chance of success.
