Nearly 700 issues of publications distributed by Barnes and Jewish hospitals have been added to the Digital Commons @ Becker.

These publications include Jewish Hospital’s 216 and Barnes Hospital’s Barnes Hospital Record and Barnes Hospital Bulletin.  216, named for the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis’ address on 216 S. Kingshighway, was published roughly every month to every two months from June 1952 to October/November 1987. In addition to providing news of the Jewish Hospital, at its inception 216 also included news related to the Jewish Medical School, the Jewish Medical School Social Service Bureau, the Jewish Sanatorium, the Miriam Rosa Bry Convalescent-Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Jewish Hospital Auxiliary. The Barnes Hospital Record was published on a mainly monthly basis from October 21, 1947 to November 1965, and was continued by the Barnes Hospital Bulletin, which was published on a monthly basis from December 1965 to August 1990. The Record provided news related to Barnes and its affiliated hospitals. At the time of the Record’s final publication in 1965, these affiliated hospitals included Barnard Hospital, St. Louis Maternity Hospital, McMillian Hospital, Renard Hospital, and Wohl Hospitals and Clinics. While the Record specifically targeted employees of Barnes and its affiliated hospitals, the Bulletin described itself by 1980 as being published for, “employees, doctors, volunteers, Auxilians, donors, former and retired employees, patients and other friends of Barnes Hospital.” All three publications provide news related to the hospitals, which could range from employee profiles and travel stories to news on medical breakthroughs and hospital research. You can access all three publication under the "BJH Healthcare Publications" collection at the following link:
