About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Annual National Library of Medicine (NLM) Global Reload will soon be underway

The annual National Library of Medicine (NLM) Global Reload will soon be underway.

Once a year the National Library of Medicine loads controlled vocabulary and new medical subject headings to Medline, that become effective in 2010. During the reload, updates to Ovid's Medline are disrupted. Ovid is scheduled to receive the dataset for the 2010 Global Reload on December 14th. Once the data is received, the reload will be completed as quickly as possible. Ovid expects the reload will be live on OvidSP January 4, 2010.
