About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Becker Medical Librarian is a new columnist for the American Journal of Nursing

Susan Fowler

Becker Medical Librarian Susan Fowler has worked with nurses for several years to help them search the health sciences literature and find the information they need to inform their patient care, research, and education.  Susan also serves in the Interagency Council on Information Resources in Nursing (ICIRN). ICIRN is a voluntary group of librarians and nurses concerned with connecting nurses to library services and resources and produce a biannual publication, Essential Nursing Resources. Susan now uses her experience to co-write a column for the American Journal of Nursing (AJN). The column, “Nursing Resources” is intended to inform nurses about resources they can use in patient care, research, and resources that can be shared with patients to help increase consumer awareness and medical literacy.
