About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Changes to IngentaConnect Alerting Service

Ingenta Connect

Washington University Libraries (both Olin Library and Becker Medical Library) are dropping their subscription to the IngentaConnect Alerting Service, which provides tables of contents and results of keyword searches via email. Current accounts will be deleted on August 31, 2009.

Please note: You can register on IngentaConnect for a free personal account. This will allow you to set up saved searches and to receive New Issue alerts for up to five journals. To set up a new issue alert, browse the homepage of the journal and click on "Receive new issue alert." The title will then be added to your list, and you will receive emails when future issues are available. Note, also, that RSS Feeds are available to alert you to new issues of the publications in which you are interested.

For additional information contact Becker Health Information Services at 314-362-7085 or AskBecker@wustl.edu.

* Please note: Becker Briefs pages may contain links, email addresses or information about resources which are no longer current.
