ClinicalKey is a clinical search engine that delivers fast, concise answers and access to evidence whenever, wherever you need it. ClinicalKey provides access to over a 1000 eBooks and active e-Clinics titles (51 titles from 2007 – to the present). ClinicalKey also has an impressive Multimedia collection of image and video content. Or you can select Procedures Consult to browse a collection of surgical procedure videos.
The ClinicalKey website is mobile friendly and access is available on the WUSM network or through the Library Proxy without registering for a free user account. However, registering for a free personal account is required in order to download PDF versions of eBook chapters, receive CME credits for searching, save content, and create presentations. Registration is also required to use the new ClinicalKey Mobile App or the First Consult app. Use your WUSM email address as your username when you register.
Mobile Apps
Just released, the new ClinicalKey app is now available (Android and Apple) and makes accessing ClinicalKey content even easier for mobile device users on and off the WUSM network. Visit the Mobile Medicine Resources Guide for detailed instructions on installing the app and applying for remote access.
A First Consult app (Apple only) is also available. If you are only interested in using the First Consult portion of ClinicalKey, you can download the stand-alone app. First Consult provides access to point-of-care references and resources, and does not require an internet connection after initial installation. Note that First Consult is only available on Apple devices:
- Open iTunes on your iPhone or iPad
- Search for “First Consult” and install the free app
- Three options will appear—choose option 1 (“I use First Consult and know my username”)
- Enter your ClinicalKey username and password and start using the First Consult App
- To update the app you will need to log-on while on the WUSM network.
