About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Copy Number Data Analysis in Partek Genomics Suite Software

Partek will be providing a whole day in-depth training course of the Partek GS software package for Copy Number analysis in Room 601B, Bernard Becker Medical Library on February 25th from 9:30am to 4:00pm.

Course Description:
The class will focus on the analysis of genomic copy number variation.  Using a combination of CN & SNP probes, estimates of total copy number will be created, segmented, and visualized. In addition to changes in copy number magnitude, differences in allelic balance will also be identified.  A short focus on the benefits of allele specific copy number will be presented.  Analysis of data with loss of heterozygosity will also be demonstrated during the course.

Course Objectives:
The topics to be covered:

  • Import of intensity and genotyping data and generation of baseline
  • Identifying regions of amplification and deletion from data and finding common regions from multiple samples
  • Generation and interpretation of allele specific copy number data
  • Identification of regions of LOH
  • Integration of copy number and gene expression data

* It will include time for you to analyze your own genomic data, so bring your data and the necessary sample information with you!

If you are interested in attending this workshop, please fill out the online registration form.
