About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

E-Books at Becker Library - An Update

The Bernard Becker Medical Library provides a rapidly growing collection of E-Books covering all subjects. We now provide access to over 19,600 e-books.  Many can be downloaded or checked out to a mobile device.  Some new and updated resources are:

Access Surgery ™ from McGraw-Hill is an integrated online resource that provides medical students, surgical residents, and practicing surgeons with quick answers to surgical inquiries from trusted sources. Organized around the accepted ACGME's (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) Core Curriculum, AccessSurgery delivers content in context.

AccessPhysiotherapy ™ from McGraw-Hill is an award-winning resource for physical therapy students, educators, and those in practice seeking to maintain certification. Leading the next generation of online physical therapy resources, AccessPhysiotherapy features content from leading McGraw-Hill texts, interactive imaging content, exclusive multimedia, and flexible curricular tools. 

Thieme E-Book Library  is an acclaimed online collection of lavishly illustrated full-color downloadable textbooks from Thieme’s renowned Color Atlases and Flexibook series.   The latest update to the Thieme E-Book Library  allows you to download  individual titles to your desktop, laptop or iPad .
