About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

The Washington University Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) along with the Bernard Becker Medical Library, is sponsoring a workshop, Enhancing the Visibility and Impact of Your Research. Registration is open to anyone.

Enhancing the Visibility and Impact of Your Research

Location: Washington University, Medical School Campus Farrell Learning and Teaching Center, Room 214 A&B 

The workshop will cover various strategies for participants to consider as they undertake research activities. The strategies are divided into three categories:

  1. Preparing for Publication
  2. Dissemination
  3. Tracking Your Research

After attending this workshop, participants will be able to better understand tools and approaches that can be used to enhance author profiles, promote discoverability and access of research findings, and document evidence of research impact.
