About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Health Literacy Programs Spotlighted at Local Education Showcase

Mychal Voorhees speaks at GMLP Media Literacy Partners' ShowcaseMychal Voorhees, Health Literacy and Community Outreach Coordinator at Becker Library, was invited to give a presentation as part of the St. Louis Gateway Media Literacy Partner's Tenth Annual Media Literacy Week Showcase.  The event was held at Ladue Horton Watkins High School on November 4th.

Highlighting programs and services she has developed to promote health literacy and communication here at the School of Medicine, Mychal  presented along with eight other educators and literacy professionals from around the St. Louis area as they described their work in a wide variety of areas related to media literacy.

The GMLP's Annual Media Literacy Week included a calendar of events designed to bring attention to the importance of promoting and sustaining media literacy and encouraging community wide conversations around this important topic.
