Mychal Voorhees, Health Literacy and Community Outreach Coordinator at Becker Library, was invited to give a presentation as part of the St. Louis Gateway Media Literacy Partner's Tenth Annual Media Literacy Week Showcase. The event was held at Ladue Horton Watkins High School on November 4th.
Highlighting programs and services she has developed to promote health literacy and communication here at the School of Medicine, Mychal presented along with eight other educators and literacy professionals from around the St. Louis area as they described their work in a wide variety of areas related to media literacy.
The GMLP's Annual Media Literacy Week included a calendar of events designed to bring attention to the importance of promoting and sustaining media literacy and encouraging community wide conversations around this important topic.
