About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Just Launched: The SCOPUS Mobile Application for the iPhone

Scopus just released a mobile application that can be downloaded for iPhones used by WUSM-affiliated users. Users must register for a free SCOPUS account before downloading the mobile application.

The mobile application includes the following features:

  • Search across thousands of scholarly journals.
  • Share search results and article links through e-mail or Twitter.
  • Save important abstracts in one place for easy look-up.
  • Set up and review e-mail alerts for favorite searches.
  • Set up e-mail alerts for when an author cites a particular article.
  • Annotate abstracts with your own notes.

 

SCOPUS iPhone Application

Scopus is a large abstract and abstract and citation database, with 17,500 peer-reviewed journals from more than 5,000 international publishers and tools to track, analyze and visualize research.
