About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

New E-Books in LWW Health Library

Bernard Becker Medical Library is pleased to announce the acquisition of a brand new subscription to the LWW Health Library Basic and Anatomical Sciences Premium Collection which includes Bates' Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking .

The LWW Health Library Basic and Anatomical Sciences Premium Collection provides access to 29 widely-used e-books and supporting multimedia content from Lippincott.  Chapters can be printed but cannot be downloaded.  Images may be downloaded for lectures, or presentations into a PowerPoint slide that is complete with figure legend and citation.   Other content such as videos, Q & A and patient education handouts are available.  There is a search box that allows searching across all content or you can go directly to the text you are interested in and read it online.  This resource is available to WUSM faculty, staff and students on campus or using the Library Proxy Server for remote access.
