About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Notice: Possible Access Interruption to Some E-journal Titles

E-journal problems: Providing uninterrupted access to the library's electronic journals is a top priority for the Becker Library. On occasion, access to a particular journal may be temporarily lost. This situation is most likely to occur during January and April, when the publishers are updating their subscription databases. By promptly contacting the publisher, the library can often resolve the problem and restore access within several hours.

An unusually large number of journal cancellations will be effective January 1, 2014.  Budgetary constraints in this fiscal year necessitated significant reductions in the Library’s e-journal holdings.

For difficulties accessing an electronic journal, please include the journal title in a message to
