About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Resource Spotlight: Henry Stewart Talks

Becker Library subscribes to the Biomedical and Life Science Collection from Henry Stewart Talks (HS Talks). This subscription gives access to over 2,000 specially prepared, animated, seminar-style, online lectures narrated by world-leading experts. New lectures are added every month and all contents are regularly reviewed and updated.

With HS Talks, you can:

  • Earn free continuing medical education (CME) credits and continuing professional development (CPD) accreditation by watching talks and completing quizzes at https://hstalks.com/biosci/courses/. You’ll need to create a personal login to track your viewing and certificates.
  • Embed talks directly in Blackboard, and send in your syllabus so that HS Talks can suggest relevant lectures.
  • Sign up for updates on new releases that match your interests.

* Please note: Becker Briefs pages may contain links, email addresses or information about resources which are no longer current.
