About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Resources to Help you Review for Final Exams

The end of the fall semester is quickly approaching, which means it’s also time for final exams. Becker Library provides a quiet, comfortable place to study and has resources that can help you review important topics before your exams. Here are a few resources you may find useful:

Book Resources:

These books are available either in Print (must come to Becker Library to access), or available electronically (must be on the WUSM network or log-in Becker Proxy to access).

Board Review Series (BRS) (print collection)

The Board Review Series of books are designed to help you study for USMLE exams. However, they are also great resources to use when studying for your school exams. They provide concise overviews of a topic and sample test questions. There are books covering a number of topics including Cell Biology and Histology, Neuroanatomy, and Pathology. Flash Card Apps/Programs

Flash cards can be used to quickly review concepts or vocabulary terms.  Flash card apps allow you to create your own review cards, and many also allow you to access cards created by other students:

AnkiApp (Cost: $4.99, available for Apple, Android, Windows, and Kindle devices)

Flashcards Deluxe (Cost: $3.99, available for Apple and Android devices)

Quizlet Mobile (apps and mobile website) (Cost: Free for students, available for Apple and Android devices)

Study Blue (Cost: Free, available for Apple and Android devices, and on desktop/laptop computers)
