SciFinder Web

CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society, will host "SciFinder: Energizing Your Chemical Synthesis Research" on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. This e-seminar begins at 1:00 p.m. CDT and will last one hour. Advance registration is required; to sign up, visit

SciFinder is a research discovery tool that allows you to explore the CAS databases containing literature from many scientific disciplines including biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, materials science, and agricultural science. SciFinder provides access to synthetic methods from 1840 to the present, from journals, patents, and evaluated reference works.

The March 11th seminar will include tips for exploring SciFinder's reaction content. You will learn how to:

  • Explore CAS reaction content
  • Find reaction information from the Wiley collections
  • Sort and analysis features that can help with more precise reaction searching
  • Conduct effective product yield searches

Visit the CAS web site to view a complete list of upcoming SciFinder e-seminars. CAS also provides an online training and support web site that provides tutorials, how-to guides, and an interactive demo.
