About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Upcoming JMP/JMP Pro Training Session at WUSM

A scientist from SAS Institute will be at WUSM presenting a JMP/JMP Pro training session on Thursday March 13th. The training session will run from 12:30 - 2:30 and will be held in Erlanger Auditorium in McDonnell Medical Sciences Building.

Session agenda:

  • Navigating JMP and using JMP's smart graphical interfaceJMP/JMP Pro
  • Data visualization, including mapping, Graph Builder, and data filters
  • Analyzing data in JMP: basic inference, ANOVA, and regression
  • JMP integration with SAS, MATLAB, R, and Excel
  • Predictive modeling (linear/logistic regression, regression trees, neural nets, model comparisons)
  • Multivariate analysis, mixed models, and repeated measures
  • Overview of new features (bootstrapping, consumer research tools, Excel import wizard, generalized regression, handling missing data, robust methods, HTML5, and more)
  • Overview of available JMP academic resources

JMP Pro is freely available on the Reseearch Pod computers in Becker Library. In addition, JMP and JMP Pro can be licensed through WUSTL Software Licensing for installation by faculty, staff, and students on lab, office, or personal computers.
