About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

UpToDate Anywhere Mobile App Now Available

UpToDate’s app for mobile devices is now available to all students, faculty, and staff of the Washington University School of Medicine, Barnes Jewish Hospital, and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Once users create an UpToDate account and install the app, they will be able to access UpToDate anywhere their mobile device goes.  Instructions for creating an UpToDate account and downloading the app can be found here: http://beckerguides.wustl.edu/mobileresources/uptodate

Users should note that they need to be on the WUSM, Barnes Jewish Hospital, or St. Louis Children’s Hospital internet network when creating the UpToDate account and when logging into the app for the first time. They will also need to log-in into the UpToDate app at least once every 90 days while on the medical campus (medical school or either hospital) to maintain access to the app.

If you have questions or experience difficulties contact Angela Hardi (ahardi@wustl.edu)
