About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

The Washington University Publications Collection - Over 100 Years of University History Available Online

The annual School of Medicine Alumni Weekend will take place April 23-26 and what a perfect time to showcase a popular Digital Commons@Becker collection that brings together over 100 years of School  of Medicine and Washington University history.

The Washington University Publications collection includes digital copies of individual issues of four university publications that can be browsed and/or downloaded directly from Digital Commons@Becker. The collection includes:

Outlook MagazineOutlook Magazine  -  Beginning with the first issue in 1964, Outlook Magazine has been a source of news for the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the Washington University School of Medicine.  Our collection includes issues from 1964 to 2011. 

 

 

 

 

Washington MagazineWashington University Magazine -  Focusing on university news, campus highlights, faculty profiles, alumni notes, and feature articles on the university’s accomplishments, this collection  includes issues from 1957 to 2011.

 

 

 

 

The RecordWashington University Record - Includes issues of this weekly newspaper that was printed and published from 1974 to 2009 for the faculty, staff, and students of Washington University and the St. Louis community. The Record highlighted campus news and events, as well as faculty and student accomplishments. Beginning in January 2010, the Record has continued to be circulated as a digital publication produced by the Office of Public Affairs at Washington University.

  • Bulletin of the School of Medicine - This annual publication presents the academic policies, services, class rosters, and course and program offerings of the school. The collection includes all of the bulletins that were published from 1899 to the present.
