About the Club
Anyone with an interest in medicine, literature or history is invited to take part in Becker Library’s Special Collections Book Club!
Every few months, we’ll hold a discussion about a novel that features medical history and look at primary sources that bring the story to life.
“The Anatomy Lesson” by Nina Siegal (2014)
This historical novel provides an imagined backstory for Rembrandt’s 1632 oil painting “The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp,” and serves as a perfect jumping-off point for a discussion on art, anatomy, and the relationship between the two.
Discussion and Primary Sources Presentation
Wednesday, June 27 at 4 p.m.
King Center, 7th Floor of Becker Library
RSVPs are encouraged but not required
Sign up for updates on what we’re reading and when we’re meeting. Ongoing participation is not required – read what you want to and attend when you can!
