About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

CLC Genomics Workbench - University-Wide Free Trial Now Available!

At the request of researchers on campus, Becker Library is investigating discounted group licensing options for CLC Genomics Workbench from CLC bio. As part of that investigation, we've obtained a university-wide free trial of CLC Genomics Workbench that will run until August 31, 2015.

NCBI Discovery Workshop at WUSTL - May 5th & 6th

Becker Library will be broadcasting the NCBI Discovery Workshop being held at the University of Michigan on May 5th and 6th, 2015. The NCBI Discovery Workshop will be led by Peter Cooper, PhD, Staff Scientist at NCBI, and will consist of four 2.5-hour hands-on sessions emphasizing different sets of NCBI resources.

Free WUSTL Software Trial: Spotfire

Researchers on campus have asked us to investigate whether there is enough interest to support a group or site license for TIBCO Spotfire. As part of that investigation, we have obtained a university-wide free trial of TIBCO Spotfire with Lead Discovery and OmicsOffice. Our WUSTL free trial will run until March 20, 2015.
