ORCID: What it is and how to use it

Do you need an ORCID iD? Or do you have one already but don’t know how to make the best use of it? This session will provide you with information to not only get you started, but also help you populate and use your ORCID record.

The NIH announced in July 2024 that all Senior/Key Personnel are required to enter their ORCID iD into SciENcv in the Persistent Identifier (PID) section of the Common Forms. All Senior/Key Personnel will also be required to link their ORCID iD to their eRA Commons Personal Profile.

ORCID is a non-profit organization that supports open science. Participate in this virtual session led by Brittney Sandler, MLIS, Research Support Librarian at Bernard Becker Medical Library, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, to learn about ORCID: What it is and how to use it.

This session will will help attendees learn about their ORCID record and ORCID iD.  It will also discuss how to link your ORCID record to other accounts such as, NCBI, Crossref, Web of Science, etc., to help ease administrative burdens.
