Love Data Week DMS Trivia Challenge

Join the Love Data Week DMS Trivia Challenge, a lunch-hour team trivia event (lunch provided) where you and your labmates, coworkers, or classmates can test your Data Management and Sharing (DMS) know-how, enjoy food and prizes, and connect with others across WashU. This event is open to WashU faculty, staff, students, and trainees.

Register for the Love Data Week DMS Trivia Challenge and turn your lunch hour into a team-building trivia session focused on Data Management and Sharing (DMS). The event will be held in the Erlanger Interactive Classroom on the Medical Campus, and lunch will be provided.

Come as a ready-made team with your lab members, coworkers, or classmates (3–5 people), or sign up as an individual and be matched with others to compete for a prize and a bragging right.

For team registrations, the team captain must register on behalf of the entire team and provide a team name, along with the name and email address of each team member. Teams must have 3–5 members; if a team registers with fewer than 5, additional individual registrants may be added so that every team is full and everyone has a group.

The event is capped at 60 participants (12 teams of 5) and is open to WashU faculty, staff, students, and trainees. Registration ends on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 5 p.m., or earlier if we reach the 60-person capacity. Additional registrants will be placed on a waitlist in case spots open up.

To keep the trivia fair and fun, no phones, tablets, laptops, or other internet-connected devices may be used during gameplay. For each round, organizers will announce the questions, teams will collaborate on an answer sheet, and organizers will grade and announce the winning team. If multiple teams tie, tie-breaking questions will continue until a single winning team is determined. Along the way, participants will acquire key data management and sharing terms and resources that they can apply in their own work.
