 n the 7th floor of the Bernard Becker Medical Libr
 ary now through June 2026.</p>\n \n <p>What is now
  termed “neuroscience” has its origins in many dis
 tinctive disciplines of medicine\, engineering\, a
 nd science\, including the academic divisions of A
 natomy\, Physiology\, Pathology\, Medicine\, Surge
 ry\, Psychiatry\, and Radiology as well as undergr
 aduate programs in Biology\, Chemistry\, Engineeri
 ng\, Psychology\, and Physics. Washington Universi
 ty has been successful at integrating these differ
 ent disciplines because of leadership\, excellence
 \, and cooperation among faculty and staff. With o
 ver a century of pioneering work in neuroscience\,
  this exhibit highlights some past and current exa
 mples of this exceptionally collaborative work.</p
 >\n \n <p>Sarah A. Luse\, MD\, a neuropathologist\
 , was among the first scientists to perform electr
 on microscopy of the nervous system. In 1964\, Lus
 e was the first woman to be officially named to an
  administrative post in the School of Medicine whe
 n she was appointed Acting Head of the Department 
 of Anatomy. The new exhibit “Compounding Potential
  – A History of the Neurosciences at WashU” is on 
 display in the Drs. Helen H. and Robert J. Glaser 
 History of Medicine Gallery on the 7th floor of th
