 ry now through June 2026.</p>\n \n <p>What is now 
 termed “neuroscience” has its origins in many dist
 inctive disciplines of medicine\, engineering\, an
 d science\, including the academic divisions of An
 atomy\, Physiology\, Pathology\, Medicine\, Surger
 y\, Psychiatry\, and Radiology as well as undergra
 duate programs in Biology\, Chemistry\, Engineerin
 g\, Psychology\, and Physics. Washington Universit
 y has been successful at integrating these differe
 nt disciplines because of leadership\, excellence\
 , and cooperation among faculty and staff. With ov
 er a century of pioneering work in neuroscience\, 
 this exhibit highlights some past and current exam
 ples of this exceptionally collaborative work.</p>
 \n \n <p>Sarah A. Luse\, MD\, a neuropathologist\,
  was among the first scientists to perform electro
 n microscopy of the nervous system. In 1964\, Luse
  was the first woman to be officially named to an 
 administrative post in the School of Medicine when
  she was appointed Acting Head of the Department o
 f Anatomy. The new exhibit “Compounding Potential 
 – A History of the Neurosciences at WashU” is on d
 isplay in the Drs. Helen H. and Robert J. Glaser H
 istory of Medicine Gallery on the 7th floor of the
  Bernard Becker Medical Library now through June 2
