A scientist from Partek will lead a hands-on RNA-Seq data analysis workshop on Tuesday, April 3rd from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm in Farrell Learning and Teacher Center, Room 303. This training uses the point-and-click interface in Partek Flow and no prior bioinformatics experience is required.


Please bring a laptop to use during this hands-on workshop. 


Topics to be covered include:

  • NGS data import (fastq, bam, txt)
  • Perform QA/QC (Pre-alignment QA/QC, Post-alignment QA/QC)
  • Trim bases, Align reads to reference genome
  • Quantify gene/transcript abundance
  • Normalize gene counts, Detect differentially expressed genes
  • Filter a gene list, Identify enriched GO terms
  • Visualize results using PCA, heat maps, dot plots, chromosome view, volcano plots, and more
