While we think that healing in fantasy worlds is rooted in magic, this exhibit explores how medicine in the realms of imagination is more tied to reality than we might suspect.
The fantasy genre is rife with adventure. Plucky protagonists sail across oceans, scale mountain peaks, battle monsters, and ride dragons. This lifestyle is equal parts thrilling and dangerous, and chances are high that one point or another, anyone caught up in a fantasy narrative will need some form of medical care. While we think that healing in fantasy worlds is rooted in magic, this exhibit explores how medicine in the realms of imagination is more tied to reality than we might suspect.
