The WashU Libraries Book Club is going virtual!

Get comfy and join us from home via Zoom as we explore titles focusing on history, medicine, travel, adventure, rare book, and literature. July's book selection is "The Hangman’s Daughter" by Oliver Pötzsch.

When the local midwife is accused of murdering children in 17th century Bavaria, hangman Jakob Kuisl is called on to investigate. His daughter Magdalena and her suitor Simon Fronwieser, the young town physician, are soon drawn into the orbit of the crime. A presentation on the medical landscape of early modern Europe will be followed by a discussion.
