MDClone is a new campus resource from the Institute for Informatics (I2) Center for Population Health Informatics. MDClone is a free, secure, self-service platform for building queries and downloading computationally derived ("synthetic") data from the I2 Research Data Core (RDC).

Love Data WeekLearn how to query EHR data in real-time using MDClone, and generate the “synthetic” datasets of your dreams. These “synthetic” datasets can be used for manuscript publication, cohort identification, sample size estimation, and more.

If you do not already have access to MDClone, please download the Instructions for Requesting Access and complete the I2 Request Help or Services Survey. Please note: It will take 3–5 days to receive your MDClone login information after completing the survey.

Christopher J. Sorensen, PhD, is a Senior Support Scientist for Bernard Becker Medical Library in the Data Management and Sharing Group at Washington University School of Medicine. He provides data management and sharing services to the school of medicine research community including consultations and workshops in REDCap, MDClone and general data management and sharing topics. Chris has a PhD in Movement Science and a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation from Washington University School of Medicine and a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance from Iowa State University.
