This hybrid workshop will occur in person at the Mid Campus Center (MCC), Room 1404, and virtually on Zoom. The presentation will provide a brief introduction to common 16S metrics and good practices for 16S data analysis. We will use RStudio docker images with pre-installed packages and scripts to analyze a mock 16S V4 data set. This session will only describe analysis of variable region amplification sequences not shotgun or long-read data. Data analysis will be performed with a user interface in a browser.

Basic knowledge of command line to launch docker image and pre-installed docker is required to participate and complete the hands-on activities. For those with no prior experience, please refer to prior workshops to familiarize yourself with command line and docker.
