About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Additional Information about CME Courses

Some courses offered by Becker Library are eligible for CME credit. Credits are offered through the Washington University School of Medicine Continuing Medical Education office. Washington University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians, and designates CME educational activity on an hour per hour basis in Category 1 credit toward the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician's Recognition Award.

There is no fee for registering or attending CME-eligible courses. However, attendees that would like to receive CME credit will need to submit a form and a fee to the CME Office (after the course). The CME office has the following rate schedule:

CME Credit Hours:

  • 1 hour: $9.00
  • 1.5 hours: $13.50
  • 2 hours: $18.00

Currently, all of Becker’s CME courses are 1.5 hours in length, with the exception of “Getting organized with Endnote,” which is 2 hours in length.

All appropriate CME forms will be available for attendees to pick up at their class session.
