New Anatomy Resource

Please welcome our newest addition to Becker Medical Library: Mortimer, the Disarticulated Skeleton!

The Becker disarticulated skeletal model has been cast from real human bones. This skeleton features an impacted wisdom tooth and a misalignment of the coccyx. The set includes all bones of an adult human male including 24 vertebrae, 12 ribs, 26 bones in each foot and 27 bones in each hand. The skull is dissectible as the lower jaw and cranium are removable.

The skeleton has been divided into nine different sets: arm (humerus, radius, and ulna); leg (femur, tibia, and patella); hand (articulated and disarticulated, 27 bones); foot (articulated and disarticulated, 26 bones); pelvis (hip and sacrum); rib cage (ribs and sternum); shoulder (scapula and clavicle); vertebrae and discs; and articulated skull and hyoid. These sets are library reserve items that can be checked out for two hours at a time and make a great study aid for students who want to bone up on their anatomy.

Make no bones about it and ask someone at the Information Services desk if you can check out a piece of Mortimer! Be sure to also keep an eye out for updates from Morty on the Becker Facebook page in the coming weeks!
