About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

uCentral provides access to The Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics and to the Johns Hopkins ABX Guide through a free downloadable mobile application or on the web.  uCentral also includes Unbound MEDLINE with Grapherence™ a powerful search tool with visual exploration capabilities and Grasp™ a study solution that allows you to build decks of flashcards as well a number of integrated calculators.

Access to the Website and to download the uCentral app to an iphone, iPad or android device is restricted to WUSM.   Registration for a free uCentral account is required to use the uCentral Mobile app and allows you to personalize your uCentral website experience.  You may register on the uCentral website or after you download the free mobile app.   Printing from the website is limited to a topic at a time. Downloading the app to your mobile device provides offline access to the material.
