About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

SPSS

IBM SPSS Statistics offers the full scope of statistical and analytical capabilities. It is an easy-to-use, comprehensive software solution that addresses the entire analysis process from planning and data preparation to analysis, reporting and deployment. SPSS provides faster performance and more accurate results compared to non-statistical, spreadsheet-type software and offer a broad range of specialized techniques to speed productivity and increase effectiveness.

SPSS is available on the Research pod computers in Becker Library through WUSTL software licensing’s campus-wide SPSS license. Currently, the Research Pod Mac computers have SPSS version 22 and the PC computers have SPSS version 23 installed.

If you would like to purchase a license for SPSS for installation on your computer, please check the WUSTL software licensing’s SPSS information page.The SPSS license year runs from August to August and license costs cannot be prorated.
