License Agreements
![]() |
License agreement executed for intellectual property generated by the research study. |
|---|
A license is defined by Washington University as a contract which awards to a party other than the owner(s) of the intellectual property the right to make, use, sell or import products or services based on the owner’s intellectual property.
Assessment
Documentation by research study investigators of license agreements executed is recommended for tracking of research output.
If further documentation is needed, research investigators should check with their campus office that handles technology transfer matters. For example, the office at Washington University that handles technology transfer matters and licenses is the Office of Technology Management.
