OpenSpecimen is a biospecimen management application which informatically tracks the collection, storage, quality assurance, and distribution of biospecimens as well as the creation of derivatives and aliquots from the existing ones. Furthermore, it allows users to find and request biospecimens that may then be used in molecular or correlative research studies. OpenSpecimen can easily integrate with REDCap to provide seamless participant registration across both systems.
Availability
Web-based, free to all WashU investigators and labs. Users must complete training before gaining access to OpenSpecimen. View available sessions
