PyMOL

PyMOL from Schrödinger is a popular molecular visualization application, used to examine molecular coordinates and render publication quality pictures of proteins and small molecules. PyMOL runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

PyMOL is available to the Washington University Community for an annual fee of $80 per lab. Users may install the software on an unlimited number of lab computers on campus and on personal off-campus computers at no additional charge. The PyMOL license year runs from November to November and licenses are renewed automatically. License costs cannot be prorated.

AxPyMOL is an addition to the WUSTL PyMOL site license that allows users to easily manipulate and embed PyMOL images and shows saved from actual PyMOL sessions, directly into PowerPoint. In AxPyMOL, users can view images of molecular structures in 3D, animate molecules dynamically, render figures artistically, export PyMOL geometry and present 3D data.
