For the first event, our speakers are Wayne Tan, PhD, Associate Professor of History at Hope College, and Susan Brownell, PhD, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. They will discuss aspects of the history of ophthalmology and eye surgery in East Asia.

A complementary lecture "Radiotherapies for Women in Korea, 1930s - 1970s," led by Soyoung Suh, PhD, assoc. professor of history, Dartmouth College, with input from Dr. Imran Zoberi, WashU professor of radiation oncology, will explore the history of breast cancer treatment in South Korea.
