Marc Moon, MDDr. Marc R. Moon joined the faculty at Washington University School of Medicine in 1998 and was promoted to Professor of Surgery in 2005.  In 2014 he was honored as the John M. Shoenberg Chair in Cardiothoracic Disease.  He was named Program Director for the Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program in 2004 and Chief of Cardiac Surgery in 2014.

Dr. Moon has authored more than 160 scientific publications; however, his passion lies in the clinical area, where he specializes in re-operative valvular surgery and diseases of the thoracic aorta.  He is the Secretary of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the world’s oldest and most prestigious society dedicated to thoracic disease, and is a consultant to the Circulatory System Devices Panel of the Food and Drug Administration.
