Explore Consensus: Free 1-Year Trial of AI Search Engine for WashU Medicine

Becker Library has arranged for WashU Medicine faculty, staff, and trainees to have free trial access to Consensus, an AI search engine for academic research, from now through December 31, 2026.

As an AI search engine, Consensus applies language models to more traditional literature search with the aim of helping researchers and students find, understand, and synthesize the literature faster. It primarily searches peer-reviewed journal articles, along with some conference papers and preprints. Different search options and filters are available, depending on your information needs.

  • To learn more about Consensus and its features (including Pro Search and Medical Mode), how it works, and how to participate in the trial, see our accompanying Subject Guide.
  • To access the trial, WashU Medicine faculty, staff, and trainees will need to sign up for a Consensus account using their @wustl.edu email address.

Any AI-generated content in Consensus should be reviewed carefully for accuracy (see WashU Responsible Use of Generative AI guidance). Further, we encourage you to use any AI search tool in conjunction with other search tools, such as PubMed, to ensure the most complete results.

To help us assess the usefulness of this tool to the WashU Medicine community, please complete the Consensus Trial Feedback Form. If you have any questions about the trial or use of AI search tools, please contact us at askbecker@wustl.edu.
