Covidence evidence synthesis screening software is now available to all faculty, staff, and students across WashU Medicine and Danforth campuses.
Covidence is a web-based software platform used for screening results from systematic and scoping reviews. Search results from comprehensive literature searches can be uploaded into Covidence and de-duplicated. The software then takes researchers through the process of title/abstract and full text screening, while generating a PRISMA flow diagram. Data extraction tools are also available. Researchers can invite collaborators from WashU and outside institutions to collaborate on projects together.
Information about accessing Covidence can be found here: https://beckerguides.wustl.edu/covidence/access
Covidence has rolled out new features recently that can help further streamline an evidence synthesis project:
- LibKey Nomad connectivity: Users can now use the LibKey Nomad browser extension to assist with finding links to full text articles in Becker Library’s collection. Information about setting up LibKey with Covidence can be found here: https://support.covidence.org/help/how-to-setup-libkey
- AI-assisted data extraction: Covidence can now provide suggestions for text inputs for select fields in a data extraction form. Users are required to accept or reject the AI-suggested text. More information about this new feature can be found here: https://support.covidence.org/help/ai-feature-extraction-suggestions
