Librarian Co-Authors Article on WUSM Global Health Pathway Collaboration

Angela Hardi, Clinical LibrarianBecker Medical Librarian Angela Hardi has co-authored an article with Rupa Patel, MD, the director of the Global Health Pathway in Internal Medicine, about their project to introduce library resources and services to the Washington University School of Medicine Global Health Scholars Pathway. Becker librarian Michelle Doering is also named as a co-author for her contributions to the work.

The article “A multicomponent library resource model to enhance academic global health education among residency programs” describes how Hardi and Patel collaborated on a needs assessment for global health residents and then built a program to address the gaps they identified in information resource needs. The article can be found in Medical Reference Services Quarterly or the abstract can be viewed in PubMed.

As a result of this collaboration, Becker Medical Library has been integrated into the Global Health Scholars Pathway, providing didactic sessions on topics like finding global health data, and has produced a comprehensive global health resources guide.
