On October 28, the library opened its doors for a lively and engaging open house that brought together faculty, staff, and students from WashU and the medical campus. From 3 to 5 p.m., attendees explored the library’s newly refreshed spaces, rediscovered its wide range of resources and services, and connected with the librarians and staff who make Becker a cornerstone of WashU Medicine’s research and learning environment.
The afternoon buzzed with conversation and discovery. Visitors toured the updated Feuerstein Health and Wellness Information Center, which now offers a reimagined space for promoting healthy living, reducing workplace burnout, and supporting holistic well-being. Guests also stopped by the 7th floor to explore the new Glaser Gallery exhibit and Archives and Rare Books collection, where they viewed historical artifacts and exhibits that showcase the depth of the library’s collections.
One of the most memorable moments was when attendees had the rare opportunity to hold authentic Nobel Prize medals—a highlight that inspired awe and plenty of photos. Guests also enjoyed refreshments, chatted with expert librarians about the library’s evolving services, and played games for a chance to win prizes and giveaways.
The open house wasn’t just a chance to tour the library—it was a celebration of community, curiosity, and connection. For many, it was a reminder of Becker Library’s role not only as a hub for information but also as a space for inspiration and collaboration.
