In this session, we will continue exploring the latest advances in science communication research, current trends in scientific output, and the challenges researchers encounter when disseminating their work.
Generative AI (GenAI) helps scientists communicate more effectively by supporting tasks like brainstorming, summarizing, and refining language—advancing open science goals of accessibility and knowledge sharing. However, responsible GenAI use requires critical thinking, transparency, and communication skills. Join us for a discussion of Generative AI in science communication: fostering scientists’ good working habits for ethical and effective use, as we reflect on best practices for making the most of GenAI tools and resources available to researchers while building public trust and minimizing risks like oversimplification and misinformation. Reading is suggested but not required to attend. Refreshments will be served.
