Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers™ List for 2025 Released
The Highly Cited Researchers™ list identifies scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated significant influence through publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field(s) and publication year in the Web of Science Core Collection over the past eleven years.
This year Clarivate has designated 7,131 Highly Cited Researcher awards to 6,868 individuals. Some researchers have been recognized in more than one Essential Science Indicators (ESI) field, resulting in more designations than individual awardees. This analysis, which includes the distribution of designations across nations and institutions, reflects the impact of these 6,868 individuals, distributed across fields, in accordance with the size of each.
46 WashU Researchers are noted on the Highly Cited List. Five WashU Researchers (Marco Colonna, Michael S. Diamond, Jonathan Kipnis, Rohit Pappu and Gang Wu) were recognized in two ESI fields and one Researcher (David M. Holtzman) was noted in three ESI fields. 31 Highly Cited Researchers appear in three or more fields for the 2025 Highly Cited Researchers List.
