Welcome to WashU Medicine! Whether you’re a new student or returning to campus, Bernard Becker Medical Library is here to assist with your education and research needs.

1. Free access to popular medical apps (UpToDate, Unbound Medicine) and browser extensions (LibKey Nomad) for one-click full-text access across PubMed, Google Scholar, and AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude) 

2. Reference & Information Services

3. Research Computing Skills & Training
Free entry-level training on a variety of research computing topics including Computing Basics, MATLAB, Python and R 

4. Research Profiles
A knowledge base to explore faculty expertise, research interests, and publications across Washington University School of Medicine to identify potential collaborators or mentors 

5. Publishing & Author Support
Expert assistance with NIH-grant compliance, journal selection and publication metrics/analytics 

6. Plain Language & Health Communication Support
Get help tailoring and simplifying consent forms, study recruitment materials and data collection instruments. Also, attend science communication events 

7. Archives and Rare Books
Access to classic medical texts, institutional history, historical artifacts, Glaser Gallery exhibits, and the Cori Nobel Prize medal 

8. Software Licensing & Tools
Licensing support for specialized programs, including GraphPad Prism, Partek Flow, SnapGene, PyMOL and Endnote 

9. Data Management & Sharing 
Support for data management from planning through repository selection as well as data access and reuse 

10. Feuerstein Health and Wellness Information Center 
A collection covering healthy cooking, stress management, meditation, mindfulness, as well as fiction and memoirs from diverse communities 

Interested in trying an AI tool for literature searches? Becker Library has arranged trial access to Consensus. WashU Medicine users can set up a free pro account through the end of 2026. More information can be found in the Consensus Guide.

Need a study break? Becker Library also offers jigsaw puzzles for check out! Puzzles can be borrowed for 4 weeks and are located on the lower level across from the vending machines.
