Do you know someone who is passionate about helping scientists effectively share the benefits and impact of their work to diverse audiences? Becker Library’s Center for Health & Science Communication is expanding its capacity to further enhance its services around science communication and is actively seeking candidates for its new position.
Becker Library has a strong history of promoting effective health and science communication to the faculty, staff, students and patients of the Washington University Medical Center, including health and science communication programming through the #SciComm Seminar Series, health communication trainings, and plain language review services. In September 2021, the library and the Office of Health Information and Data Science launched the Center for Health & Science Communication to meet identified needs and growing interest on campus.
With this new position, the center will provide additional support to the School of Medicine community by delivering innovative science communication workshops, providing feedback on scientific presentations, and developing a wide range of communication strategies for both scientific and non-scientific audiences. The communication specialist will also help lead the development and implementation of a scientific communication strategy to support and develop activities for the center.
