MATLAB

MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment used by engineers and scientists worldwide that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages. MATLAB applications are amenable to numerical computation with features such as mathematical functions for linear algebra, statistics, Fourier analysis, filtering, optimization, numerical integration and solving ordinary differential equations. MATLAB provides built-in graphics for data visualization, tools for creating custom plots and functions for integrating MATLAB based algorithms with external applications and languages such as C, Java, .NET and Microsoft Excel.

MATLAB is available for free on the Research Pod computers in Becker Medical Library through the Washington University’s Campus-wide License for Mathworks. The MATLAB toolboxes installed on the Research Pod computers are listed below:

MATLAB — R2023b

  • Bioinformatics Toolbox
  • Curve Fitting Toolbox
  • Deep Learning Toolbox
  • Signal Processing Toolbox
  • Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox

Students may download the Mathworks Full Suite for free via a campus license. Faculty and staff must purchase the application. Visit WUIT Software Licensing for further information.
