Join us as Chris Woolston takes us on a journey through an unconventional career path--from his early days as an academic scientist in Antarctica to his current position as a research writer for Washington University Arts & Sciences.

We will learn what inspired him and how he trained to become a science writer; get valuable insights from his two-decade detour freelancing for Nature, The Atlantic, and The New York Times; and find out what brought him back home to Washington University. Chris will touch on his reporting at the intersection of biology, psychology, and mental health, highlight the differences between journalistic writing and university communications, and reveal how his journalism background influences his current role.
