Announcing a new and transformative 4-year open access deal with Elsevier

Washington University Libraries and Bernard Becker Medical Library announce a new and transformative open access agreement with Elsevier, spanning from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2027, that provides access to additional journal content, makes it free to read and share, and offers WashU authors open access publishing at no cost.

Travel Scholarships Available for Archives and Rare Books Collections Use

To encourage researchers living more than 100 miles from St. Louis to use these collections, Becker Library offers two grants annually of up to $1,000 each to help defray the costs of travel, lodging, food and photo reproductions. Covered expenses will be reimbursed at the conclusion of the visit. Apply by March 1, 2023.

New quiet study space opened on the sixth floor

Becker Library has added a new quiet study area. The Center for the History of Medicine space on the 6th floor of the library is now available to School of Medicine students and faculty for quiet study – no reservations required.
