Washington University Libraries and Bernard Becker Medical Library announce a new and transformative open access agreement with Elsevier, spanning from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2027, that provides access to additional journal content, makes it free to read and share, and offers WashU authors open access publishing at no cost.

To encourage researchers living more than 100 miles from St. Louis to use these collections, Becker Library offers two grants annually of up to $1,000 each to help defray the costs of travel, lodging, food and photo reproductions. Covered expenses will be reimbursed at the conclusion of the visit. Apply by March 1, 2023.

Becker Library has added a new quiet study area. The Center for the History of Medicine space on the 6th floor of the library is now available to School of Medicine students and faculty for quiet study – no reservations required. The library opened the space in response to student requests for more study areas [Read more]
Student and trainee groups can now apply for modest grants through Becker Library’s Feuerstein Health and Wellness Information Center to help them actualize ideas for reducing stress, improving health and promoting healthier lifestyles among their classmates and peers.
