About Access Restrictions to Electronic Resources

Access and use of electronic resources made available by the Becker Medical Library are governed by license agreements between the School of Medicine and publishers or third parties. Several of the electronic resources carry some restriction on their use. Access may be restricted by user location, number of concurrent users, and/or password.

In short, most people experience access limitations based on the network to which their computer is connected. Below is a quick breakdown of what can be accessed from various networks.

Partek Flow

Partek Flow is a web-based software application designed specifically for the analysis of next generation sequencing data including RNA, small RNA, and DNA sequencing data with an easy-to-use graphical interface. The application can be installed on desktop, server, cluster, or cloud with access from any browser (Partek Flow system requirements).

With Partek Flow software you can perform alignment, quantification, quality control, statistics, interactive visualization of data and find the biological meaning of your data. You can build your own custom analysis pipelines or download pipelines built by Partek scientists.

A group license for Partek Flow is installed on the Center for High Performance Computing cluster, and available to the Washington University community.  Each lab can purchase a single user login for their lab at an annual cost of $3,000.

The Partek Flow license year runs from February to February, with licenses renewing automatically. License costs cannot be prorated.
